 Artificial sweeteners are chemicals that replace the sweetness of sugar without all the calories.  Sometimes the label “sugar free” masks calories present in the product.  Recent research has indicated that artificial sweeteners can increase your appetite.  Many sugar free products raise your blood sugar dramatically. “Sugar free” does not mean diet friendly.

 

  •  Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, NatraSweet, Canderel, Spoonfuls, DiabetiSweet) is a common chemical sweetener with serious side effects. Hallucinations, seizures, brain tumors are some examples.  Recommended viewing of “The Truth About Aspertame” by Dr. Russell Blaylock and “Sweet Misery.”
  •  Sucralose (Splenda) is scary.  Research has shown that this can enlarge the liver and kidneys and shrink the thymus glands.  It can also cause skin rashes, panic, diarrhea, headaches, bladder issues, stomach pain, and more. 

Artificial sweeteners are poison to your body and your brain.  Aspartame is considered the most dangerous sweetener.  It causes cancer in rats.  Over 75% of the bad reactions to food additives are from aspartame.  Patients with depression are more likely to have negative side effects from this sweetener. 

Artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame, can cause weight gain, wreak havoc on metabolism, numbness, muscle spasms, irritability, fatigue, and vision problems to name a few.  Some studies indicate that aspartame can cause and/or aggravate brain tumors, MS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, diabetes, and other problems. 

 Turn to natural sweeteners!

 Honey, organic maple syrup, molasses, date sugar, brown rice syrup, and Stevia.
